Security Issues Within Deltura

SecurityI wanted to make you all aware that both of our vehicles at 1417 Avenida Sierra were gone through on the morning of November 4, 2008, sometime between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. in the morning. They did not take anything other than $2 in change out of my console. They did however leave the glove boxes, middle consoles and visors all open upon exiting the vehicles. I had a radar detector in my car that was not even touched. It appears that they are looking for money and I encourage everyone to lock their vehicles if they are not parked in your garage. Also, make sure that your doors and homes are secure before retiring for the night. We were just fortunate that our doors were locked and they did not try to break in while we were sleeping.

I did report this incident to the Gate and was referred to the police department. With the state of the economy right now, we need to be more vigilant in taking responsibility for the safety of our homes and community. Good luck everyone and stay safe!

Have you noticed that some of the worst offenders seen driving through the stop signs and failing to signal turns are those in golf carts identified as 'Safety Patrol' volunteers? One 'Safety Patrol' cart was recently observed driving on the streets with small children hanging onto the back of the cart. Congratulations to the people volunteering to help keep our community safe, however, please reconsider allowing those who are setting a bad example to our residents and guests to continue to volunteer for this duty.
